Appropriations
Appropriations bills are bill that fund government agencies. For a breakdown of the various bills considered each year, please visit the House Appropriations Committee website.
In previous years, as part of the appropriations process, I invited public entities and community nonprofits from our district to submit worthy projects for federal funding. However, since 2010 there has been a ban for Member-requested projects, commonly known as “earmarks.” You can see the appropriations funding I have brought home through the links below for fiscal years 2009 and 2010, or click on the map to see all locally funded appropriations projects.
Although I am unable to submit funding requests through the appropriations process, I am committed to ensuring that exemplary local projects receive the federal support and attention they deserve. I encourage you to look at the ‘Grants Guide’ section of this website to see how you can apply for a grant or assistance from a federal agency. You are also welcome to call my Washington D.C. office at (202) 225-5065, my office in Fremont at (510) 494-1388, or e-mail me by clicking here.
