McKinley Votes To Establish Free and Competitive Marketplace
W.Va. rep votes to even out the playing field for American industry
Washington, D.C. – Rep. David B. McKinley (R-WV) voted Tuesday to protect American manufactures and business owners by voting in favor or H.R. 4105, which will ensure a fair and balanced playing field for American industries in the global market. Introduced by Rep. Dave Camp (R-MI), this legislation will overturn a December ruling by a federal appellate court that found U.S. law forbid the Department of Commerce from applying countervailing duties to non-market economies (NMEs). McKinley is an original cosponsor of the bill.
“This legislation will lower costs for American consumers by creating a free and competitive marketplace that will benefit our nation’s business owners. However small, this bill removes an unnecessary burden from the backs of America’s job creators by eliminating unfairly subsidized imports. I was proud to cosponsor this legislation in order to protect the more than the 80 American companies and tens of thousands of American workers that could
