Note To Readers: Senator Murkowski would like to thank all Alaskans who submitted photos illustrating the sky high costs of good around the state. An EPA proposal could result in prices rising statewide, and Senator Murkowski told the Washington Post “We cannot afford a 25 percent increase in a box of Tide.” She will be taking pictures to the Senate floor to educate her colleagues at 1pm AKDT. Fixing Our Tax Code
Alaskan Impact: Yesterday’s tax vote was a key example of why America needs comprehensive tax reform, not a piecemeal approach that would cost Alaska 1800 jobs. As she pointed out in her economic town halls across Alaska last fall, Senator Murkowski is calling for a smarter, simpler tax structure. Today the House of Representatives discussed the need for such a big picture solution.
