Washington, DC – This week, Congressman John Culberson (TX-07) became a cosponsor of H.R. 1179, the Respect for Rights of Conscience Act, that would amend the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to permit a health plan to decline coverage of specific items and services, such as birth control, that are contrary to the religious beliefs of the insurance provider or beneficiary.
