Washington, D.C. - Congressman Howard L. Berman released the following statement after Congresswoman Gabby Giffords announced that she will resign from Congress to focus on her recovery:
 
“I had the good fortune of working closely with Gabby Giffords as a colleague on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.  She has been a deeply committed advocate for her constituents; a thoughtful and wise legislator; and a humble and compassionate individual.  Her hard fought recovery is a testament to her strength and passion for life.  Her presence within these corridors will truly be missed.
 
I wish her and her family the best on her continued recovery.”
