Rep Walberg Votes To Repeal Health Care Law / Tax

Washington, D.C. - Rep Tim Walberg voted in favor today of H.R. 6079, the Repeal of Obamacare Act. The bill passed with bipartisan support by a vote of 244-185.

"When my House Republican colleagues and I were sworn into office in 2011 we promised our constituents we'd do everything we could to repeal this burdensome, expensive and unpopular law.  If not repealed, the law will lead to 21 new or higher taxes--12 of which will directly hit the middle class in Michigan. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the law will also lead to 80,000 fewer jobs and cost $1.76 trillion, nearly double what was initially projected. With an unemployment rate above 9 percent in some parts of my district, we can't afford to stifle job creation.

Repealing the health care law is a common-sense policy that will both help our economy grow and restore health care decisions to Americans and their families," stated Rep Tim Walberg following the vote.
