ObamaCare - One Year Later

Washington, D.C. - Today marks the one-year anniversary of the government’s takeover of health care being signed into law by President Obama.

In recognition of the anniversary of the job-killing law, Congressman Walberg released the following statement:

“Since the job-destroying health care takeover has become law, it has failed to live up to its promises and has slowed the economic progress of our country.  Instead of the promised reforms, we have gotten thousands of pages of new regulations and billions in new taxes that are hurting our small businesses at the worst possible time.  All the while, health care costs have continued to rise.  The American people agree that we need changes to our health care system, but this is not it.  The American people deserve better.  That’s why I have made it a priority to reverse this law by voting for a full repeal as well the elimination of the burdensome tax reporting requirements and the funding for agencies to implement ObamaCare.  I will continue to champion common-sense, patient-centered health care reforms like expanded flexibility of Health Savings Accounts, association health plans, and allowing the purchase of health coverage across state lines.”
