Walberg Statement on Repeal of 1099 Requirement

Washington, D.C. - The U.S. House voted today to repeal an onerous requirement created under the health care law.  The provision would require businesses to issue IRS 1099 forms for all payments over $600.  In voting for the repeal, Congressman Tim Walberg (R-MI) issued the following statement:

“I am focused on giving employers the ability to create jobs and grow the economy, the most important issue to the American people.  The repeal of the onerous 1099 tax reporting requirement is a commonsense reform that stops one of Obamacare’s most egregious burdens on small businesses.  We must get the IRS off the backs of our employers so that they can create jobs, not just fill out IRS paperwork.”
