Fact Sheet: Final Continuing Resolution

Details about the Final 2011 Budget Resolution

There is a lot of misinformation currently circulating about the final 2011 budget.

But here are the facts:

  • Cuts nearly $40 billion in spendingthis fiscal year, and $315 billion over the next 10 years.  It also eliminates 40 ineffective programs in the Department of Education and reduces spending for the operation of Congress by $103 million.
  • Funds our troops for the remainder of the fiscal year.
  • Works to repeal Obamacare by forcing a vote in the U.S. Senate on the repeal of the health care law, denies additional funding for more IRS agents to implement and enforce Obamacare, and requires an audit to review the waivers and cause of health insurance premium increases.
  • Bans taxpayer funding of abortions in Washington DC and forces a vote in the Senate on taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood.
  • Requires yearly audits, both by the private sector and Government Accountability Office, of the Dodd-Franks law’s financial sector regulations, to determine the impact on job creation, lending to small businesses, and costs to consumers.
