I believe true economic growth comes from the private sector; the government cannot spend us into prosperity.  Our job in Washington is to create the conditions for a strong economy.  That means tax rates that are low, fair, and simple which is the opposite of the tax code we have now.  Senseless regulations are incredibly damaging to the economy and far too often the bureaucrats in Washington act as if they are accountable to no one. They should not be allowed to issue any new major regulations without the approval of Congress.  We need to get away from the attitude that Washington knows what’s best for everyone, everywhere, all the time and return to the limited government principles that made America great.
