WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Ander Crenshaw today (11/10) issued the following statement in honor of Veterans Day:

“On Veterans Day and all days, we must not forget that our nation’s greatness is drawn from the blood and sacrifice of honorable and courageous soldiers who have gone before us and who serve us today.

“They are the bold veterans like the men and women I honor today (11/10) at the Robert H. Jenkins, Jr. Veterans Domiciliary Home in Lake City, Florida at my Veterans Special Recognition Ceremony. Through World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the years in between, they put their lives on the line so that we may know freedom. They deserve to have a light shine brightly on their commitment to country.

“We pay tribute to them and all soldiers through the decades who have fought to preserve our independence. Their sacrifice is part or our collective history and that of other nations they have aided along the way.

“In Afghanistan, and Iraq, America’s finest continue this proud legacy by helping these countries root out extremists who promise only terror. They are the face of peace that comes after the dark storm.

“We salute all who answered the call of duty, placed liberty over life, and their countrymen over themselves. The American people cannot repay that huge debt, but we can honor and remember our veterans’ greatness. We thank them for their service, and remember their contributions to our nation each and every November 11th. ”
