Congressman Brian Bilbray Calls for Investigation Into Unnecessary Death of Park Service Animals

San Diego, CA. – Following the tragic death of seven mules and two horses under supervision of the National Park Service in Central California, Congressman Brian Bilbray (CA-50) requested an investigation by the Department of Interior Secretary, Kenneth Salazar, and issued the following statement:
“The loss of these National Park Service mules and horses is tragic. I am appalled by possible negligent treatment of these animals. The people responsible for this must be held accountable for their action, or in this case, inaction. An immediate investigation is needed to determine what happened and to prevent this type of tragedy in the future.”
