NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MANUFACTURERS PRESENT CONGRESSMAN RICK BERG WITH ‘AWARD FOR MANUFACTURING LEGISLATIVE EXCELLENCE’

West Fargo, N.D. – Congressman Rick Berg today received the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence at Integrity Windows and Doors in West Fargo.  This award is given to members of Congress whose voting record on key manufacturing legislation demonstrates an understanding of, and support for, the manufacturing sector’s key role in the economy.

“It’s an honor to receive the Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence today from National Association of Manufacturers,” stated Berg.  “Manufacturing is the key to an economic recovery, and I will continue to support our manufacturers as they help rebuild America and put our country back on track.”

Jeff Johnson, Plant Manager of Integrity Windows and Doors presented Berg with the award on behalf of the National Association of Manufacturers.

“The Marvin Companies thanks Congressman Berg for ensuring that the manufacturing voice is heard in Washington,” stated Johnson. “It is leaders like Congressman Berg who know that manufacturers are drivers of economic growth, job creation and prosperity.”

Recipients of NAM’s Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence are based on members of Congress’s votes on key manufacturing legislation identified by NAM in the 112th Congress. These include key votes on issues such as energy policy, taxes and regulations, among others. Each key vote is selected by NAM’s Key Vote Advisory Committee, which is comprised of NAM member companies and associations.

“Manufacturers today compete in a global marketplace,” said NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons. “It is critical that Washington creates policies to keep us competitive and maintain our mantle of economic leadership. Congressman Berg understands this and has consistently supported the pro-manufacturing agenda through his votes in Congress.”
