Congressional Internships

My staff and I realize the value of the hands-on learning experience attained from a Congressional internship. Therefore we encourage college students to apply for an opportunity to work in either our Washington, D.C. or District offices.

Our spring and fall semester internships may be eligible for compensation or credit depending on your individual circumstances. The summer positions are non-paying positions, which are divided into two six week sessions. Our summer interns will work specifically with either our legislative or communications staff. However, other duties will also be required relevant to the daily operation of the office. We prefer that our applicants be Texas residents with district ties, but exceptions may be made depending on the qualifications of the applicant.

To apply for one of our internships, please submit a resume, a two to four page typed letter of interest, two letters of reference with contact information, and our application (see our Online Internships Form below). Please fax or mail your completed packet to the office of where you would like to intern by the end of the 2nd week in February for summer internships. While we do not have an application deadline for spring and fall term applicants, we do strongly encourage those interested to apply as soon as possible.  For those interested in a Washington, D.C. internship, please give yourself adequate time to make any necessary travel and housing arrangements.
