Working for You - How My Office Can Serve You

Jun 19, 2012

Dear Friend,

I’ve always taken great pride in my work on behalf of my constituents.

One of the most direct examples is the assistance my office regularly provides Central Coast residents and businesses in matters involving the federal government.

For example, we can often help resolve a problem someone may have with the federal government, assist a business applying for federal grants, or help a young high school graduate secure a nomination to one of our nation’s prestigious military service academies.

If you are coming to Washington, D.C., we can often help you arrange tours to the Capitol or White House and provide information on other attractions in our nation’s capital. We can even get a flag flown over the U.S. Capitol for you.

If you need help cutting through government red tape with Social Security, Medicare, or veterans benefits, or if you are having a problem with the IRS or Immigration and Customs Enforcement, my staff can make an inquiry on your behalf and ensure that you receive the level of service you deserve.

And while we can never ensure a resolution of a particular case in your favor, we have had a lot of success over the years.

Here are just a few recent examples of how my office has helped people on the Central Coast:

  • Michael from Oxnard recovered nearly $48,000 in missed payments after he was wrongly denied Social Security benefits he earned because he had a disabled parent. He called my office, and fortunately we were able to help him out.
  • Sarah from Santa Maria was having trouble getting the $8,000 first time federal homebuyer tax credit after purchasing her first home. We worked with the IRS to get the refund processed.
  • William from Oxnard was wrongly denied a Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) service disability by the Veterans Administration. My office helped him recover over $19,000 in benefits, and William was rightly approved for PTSD disability coverage.
  • Eleanor from San Luis Obispo was about to lose her family home to foreclosure. But my office was able to work with her and her bank to obtain a loan modification. Eleanor wrote to me recently to say that “everything about our home has been good for us as a family and having to give it up would have been extremely difficult.”

Again, my staff and I are here to serve the people of the Central Coast.

So, please feel free to contact me, or visit the “Help with a Federal Agency” page on my website for more information.

And please remember, you can keep in touch with me by liking my Facebook page, following me on Twitter, or you can always send me an email.

Sincerely,
