The Warwick Advertiser: Repeat Performance Antiques Opens

GREENWOOD LAKE — On Sunday, Sept. 2, U.S. Rep. Nan Hayworth, Greenwood Lake Mayor Barbara Moor, and award-winning photographer Gerry Zanetti joined owner Priscilla Maysonet and her partner, Pam Maynard, for the grand opening of A Repeat Performance Antiques Etc.

The shop, located at 88 Windermere Ave, offers an eclectic variety of antiques, collectibles and art work.

In addition to the ribbon cutting ceremony, A Repeat Performance Antiques hosted an art opening featuring Zanetti, a long time resident of Greenwood Lake, who is exhibiting photographs covering his 30 year career professionally photographing food and still life.

“It has always been my dream to have a store; a thrift or antique store,” said Maysonet. “I like the idea of preserving history. Focusing on craft from an earlier time helps people appreciate this work and then take it into their homes. These pieces take their place in contemporary homes. It’s a repeat performance.”

Maysonet was born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens in a large extended family. She spent her summers in the Poconos going to auctions and flea markets. Her older brother and his wife started buying furniture and she admired the things that they brought home. Fifteen or twenty years ago a friend moved to Greenwood Lake and she visited often and fell in love with the place.

Greenwood Lake reminded Priscilla of the small town in the Poconos where she had summered as a child. And she thought it would be a charming spot for a store. The layout of A Repeat Performance allows the antique store and works on consignment to coexist with a backroom which is open for community events such as art shows, workshops and readings.

“These events can highlight the many populations in town: children, senior citizens, artist, writers, collectors and so forth,” said Maysonet. “I’m envisioning the backyard space being used for flea markets, farmers markets, and arts and crafts events. It is wide open to so many possibilities. And this is an amazing location filled with restaurants, shops, lake vistas and friendly people.”

Until the end of this year A Repeat Performance will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Beginning in April it will also be open the same hours on Thursdays and Fridays. And the store is always open by appointment.
