Crowley: Ex-Im Reauthorization Heads to President’s Desk

Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Joseph Crowley (NY-7), Chair of the New Democrat Coalition, released the following statement on passage of the Export-Import Bank reauthorization in the United States Senate.

“For months, New Dems have been working hard to make sure we continue to give American businesses confidence to sell their products abroad and create jobs here at home.  With this vote as well as our previous vote in the House, we’re showing America we can put party politics aside and get down to business.  I am pleased to see the updated reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank head to the President’s desk this afternoon so it can be signed into law, and I hope this sets a precedent for future negotiations.”

The legislation authorizes the Export-Import Bank for another three years and gradually increases the bank’s lending authority over that timeframe to $140 billion. Last year, Ex-Im financing helped more than 3,000 companies add almost 300,000 jobs across America.

The New Democrat Coalition is dedicated to maintaining America’s standing as the world’s strongest, most successful nation.
