Roberts Honored as Guardian of Small Business

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Pat Roberts (R-Kan.) received the Guardian of Small Business Award today from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) for his votes on key legislation supporting small businesses in the United States.

“I was pleased to be honored by the National Federation of Independent Business for standing up for the backbone of our country’s economy,” said Roberts. “I am proud of the votes I’ve made in the 112th Congress that reflect my support for American’s small-business owners.”

NFIB presented Guardian awards to 47 senators who voted favorable on key small business issues at least 70 percent of the time during the 112th Congress.

“The record shows that Sen. Roberts is a true champion of small business, having stood strong on the key small-business votes in the 112th Congress,” said Dan Danner, NFIB President and CEO. “This award reflects our members’ appreciation for supporting the NFIB pro-growth agenda for small business.”

This is the 15th time Sen. Roberts has received this award since the 97th Congress.
