Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo today issued the following statement in recognition of Veterans Day.

“I join the people of Guam in honoring our veterans for their selfless service and sacrifices in defense of our freedom. I also recognize our servicemembers who are currently serving overseas, and I continue to look forward to the day when they all return home,” said Congresswoman Bordallo. “Although we set aside one day a year to honor the men and women who worked to protect our families and our nation, we can continue to show them our gratitude by supporting them here at home. It is important to expand job and educational opportunities to our veterans to make them more competitive in the current job market. Moreover, I will continue to work with our Guam Veterans Advisory Council and the Obama Administration to ensure our veterans receive the resources they need and a quality of life they deserve.”
