Statement on America Recycles Day

Nov 13, 2012

Congresswoman Madeleine Z. Bordallo today issued the following statement on behalf of National America Recycles Day on November 15, 2012.

“I encourage the people of Guam to join local leaders and recycling stakeholders in their school and community outreach efforts to advance America Recycles Day,” said Congresswoman Bordallo. Guam imports more than 79 million aluminum cans every year. Recycling is an everyday activity that our island residents should practice and I commend Senator Tina Muna Barnes, the Guam Environmental Protection Agency, the Mayor’s Council of Guam for working to raise awareness of this issue. Please help preserve our island’s natural resources and do your part to keep our landfill free of toxic waste so that future generations promote recycling awareness, commitment, and action. ”
