New Dem Education Leaders Applaud Passage of Charter School Bill

Washington, D.C – Today, leaders of the New Democrat Coalition Education Task Force Representatives Susan Davis (CA-53) and Jared Polis (CO-2) released the statement below following passage of the bipartisan Empowering Parents through Quality Charter Schools Act (H.R. 2218):

“America’s future economic prosperity rests on our ability to ensure that all students receive an excellent education, including those who attend charter schools. The bipartisan Quality Charter School Act will spread the most successful charter school practices across America, strengthen school management, and ensure that every school is increasing student achievement.  This is the first step toward the broader education reform that New Democrats want to see Congress achieve this year.”
