Representative Young Welcomes Home Honor Flight Veterans

Representative C. W. Bill Young met veterans at the St. Petersburg - Clearwater International Airport as they arrived back from an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.  After leaving Tampa this morning, these veterans were taken on a tour of our nation’s Capital, including the Iwo Jima, WWII, Korean and Vietnam Memorial.  Their trip also included a bus tour showcasing the Capitol Building, Pentagon, 9/11 Memorial and the Jefferson Memorial.

“Our veterans deserve all of our respect and admiration for their service,” Young said.  “Honor Flights are a small way of thanking them because, for many of these veterans, this is their first time seeing the memorials in person and I am honored to greet them as they return home.”  Young also thanked all of the volunteers who assisted the veterans by accompanying them to Washington.
