Rep. Young Celebrates Constitution Day

Sep 17, 2012

Representative C.W. Bill Young issued the following statement in celebration of Constitution Day:

“The Constitution was originally adopted on September 17, 1787, by our Founding Fathers.  Our republic, created by this document, has been unparalleled by any other in the world for the last 225 years.  To commemorate this significant event, we observe Constitution Day each year to celebrate the freedoms guaranteed by our nation’s most sacred document.

“I have sworn an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, and I take that pledge very seriously.  As my colleagues and I on the House Constitution Caucus have led the efforts in this 112th Congress reaffirming our commitment to upholding the Constitution, I carry a copy of the Constitution with me each day as I serve the people of Pinellas County in the U.S. House of Representatives.”
