Family Values

Louisiana is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. As a representative of this great state, I am working everyday to preserve our values and way of life.

As a father and grandfather, I strongly believe in protecting the rights of the unborn. Serving as a member of the Congressional Pro-life Caucus, I am a consistent champion of pro-life causes and believe life begins at conception. I always have and always will support legislation that protects the rights of our unborn.

In addition, I believe in the sanctity of marriage and support a constitutional amendment defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

Second Amendment Rights Granted by the U.S. Constitution

Let me begin by reaffirming my strong unwavering support for the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. The right to bear arms is a fundamental right that is assured to every law-abiding citizen. Every day in this nation, criminals are deterred and stopped because of private citizens carrying guns. If gun control advocates have their way, responsible citizens would be stripped of this unalienable freedom, and in some cases, their personal protection.

Being a life-long Louisianan, I have grown up enjoying the “Sportsman’s Paradise” as my home. I am proud to be a member of the Congressional Sportsman Caucus, and to have received an "A" rating from the National Rifle Association. I firmly believe that the government should not pass any law that restricts the rights of law-abiding citizens to purchase, own and legally use firearms.
