Each and every one of us owes our freedom and cherished way of life to those who have served, and continue to serve, in our armed forces. In return for their service, I believe we have a solemn obligation to provide our service members with the tools and resources they need to accomplish their mission while they serve, and to provide our veterans with the benefits and care they have earned when they return. Compensation for the sacrifices for our soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines have made should not be another victim of Washington politics.

During my time serving Louisiana’s fifth congressional district, I have fought tenaciously for the rights and welfare of our service members and veterans, and I will continue to do so as long as I remain here. I will work hard to ensure that all members of the Armed Forces receive pay and benefits, no matter what the circumstances may be.

Our nation relies on the commitment of all of our soldiers who are both on active duty and in the reserves. For these reasons, I serve on the National Guard and Reserve Components Caucus, the Congressional Shipbuilding Caucus, and the Air Force Caucus.
