Webb Staff to Hold Community Office Hours in Carroll County on September 15, 2011

“Webb Sites” Provide In-Person Constituent Services to Outlying Localities

September 2, 2011

A staff representative from the office of Senator Jim Webb will hold a “Webb Site,” or satellite office-hours, where Virginians living in the Carroll County area will have the opportunity to receive one-on-one assistance. These sessions are designed to help constituents with difficulties relating to Social Security and Medicare benefits, veterans’ benefits, legal immigration, federal student loans, military service, and other federally-related matters.

A “Webb Site” will be held in Hillsville on September 15, 2011, 2 pm-4 pm in the Board of Supervisors’ Room in the Carroll County Governmental Complex.

The “Webb Sites” program offers constituents additional face-to-face contact with Webb staff representatives and aims to provide access for those persons who would otherwise have to travel longer distances to reach one of Senator Webb’s six Virginia field offices. The Hillsville location is targeted at constituents living in Carroll and Patrick Counties, and other surrounding communities.

“Providing high quality constituent service is deeply important to me and my staff,” said Senator Webb. “My ‘Webb Sites’ program is designed to make my Senate office more accessible to the people of Virginia.”

Since taking office in 2007, Senator Webb’s staff has held more than 125 “Webb Sites” in at least 50 communities across Virginia.

“This program has enabled my office to reach out to communities across the Commonwealth and assist constituents with federal issues,” said Senator Webb. “Proper service is best delivered through one-on-one interaction, and I hope the residents of Carroll and Patrick Counties and surrounding areas will take advantage of this resource.”

Representatives from Senator Webb’s office will help constituents complete casework inquiry and privacy forms so that assistance can be properly conducted in keeping with federal law. Constituents are asked to bring copies of all pertinent information regarding their cases in order to facilitate a timely response. For citizens who wish to work on another person’s behalf, the constituent with the concern must provide written permission for such action.
