Since coming to Congress, Leonard Lance has been a strong supporter of Israel. Having traveled to Israel and witnessing first-hand the daily threats Israelis face, Congressman Leonard Lance has consistently voted in favor of military and economic aid packages benefiting Israel.

As co-chairman of the Republican Israel Caucus, Congressman Lance voted to recognize Israel’s right to defend itself against attacks from Gaza, called for Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel and support relocating the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

And Lance recently joined in support of H.Con.Res. 260, a bipartisan resolution recognizing the 62nd anniversary of the independence of our indispensable ally Israel, and reaffirming Congress’s commitment to the U.S.-Israel relationship and to Israel's right to self-defense and to exist as a democratic, Jewish state.

Like you, Congressman Leonard Lance is fully aware that the United States and Israel are also confronted with mutual threats to our safety and security. To this end, you may be pleased to know that Congressman Lance recently signed a letter calling on President Obama to impose crippling sanctions on Iran over its nuclear program. Congress must work in a bipartisan manner to do what is necessary now to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons capability. Now is not the time to soften our stance against Iran.

And finally Congressman Lance has continued to fight against anti-Semitism by sponsoring legislation calling on the President to abstain from participation in the Durban Review Conference, voting in favor of a resolution opposing the endorsement of the “Goldstone Report” on the Gaza Conflict for its unbalanced anti-Semitic assessments and becoming an original sponsor of legislation supporting the Special Envoy to monitor and combat Anti-Semitism.
