Passports

On January 23, 2007 the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) was implemented by the U.S. Department of State as a result of the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act of 2004. Effective October 1, 2007, all U.S. Citizens traveling by air between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean region are required to present a U.S. passport or other WHTI-compliant documentation to enter or depart from the United States.
