Sarbanes Announces $6.86 Million Job Training Grant to Anne Arundel Community College
Towson, MD – Congressman John Sarbanes announced today that Anne Arundel Community College will receive a $6.85 million grant through the Department of Labor’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training program. The funds will be used to establish job training and workforce development programs with a focus on science and technology.
“To make our economy strong, we must invest in training programs that match the skills of workers with the jobs available in areas of growth,” said Congressman John Sarbanes. “Anne Arundel Community College is training Marylanders for the high tech jobs that will help rebuild our country.” These funds are the first of a $2 billion, four-year investment that will be allocated nationwide to increase job opportunities for the unemployed. ###
