The House Democrat's agenda, "Make It In America", is a plan to support job creation by encouraging businesses to make products and innovate in the United States and to strengthening our infrastructure. This agenda is intended to help American companies produce more goods domestically, maintain America's leadership in innovation, and educate a 21st century workforce. "Make It In America" contains a variety of proposals that include investing in infrastructure and supporting the flow of commerce, keeping America competitive, supporting small business, creating a smart tax policy and an Innovative education policy. This effort builds on House Democrats' actions to create jobs and continue growing the economy and focuses on investing in key priorities while cutting wasteful spending.

During the 112th session of Congress, I was proud to co-sponsor 5 bills that fell under the "Make It In America "agenda. These bills include:

  •  National Infrastructure Development Bank Act
  •  Currency Reform for Fair Trade Act
  •  New Alternative Transportation to Give Americans Solutions Act
  •  Strengthening Employment Clusters to Organize Regional Success (SECTORS)
  •  Berry Amendment Extension Act

Several "Make It In America" bills have already become law, cutting taxes and creating loans for small businesses, lowering costs of raw materials, speeding up the patent process, ending tax loopholes that encourage companies to ship jobs overseas, supporting clean energy firms, investing in job training partnerships, holding foreign nations accountable for the unfair currency manipulation that costs American jobs, and more. House Democrats intend to make this agenda a key part of job-creating efforts over the next several years. When more products are made in America, more families can "Make It In America", as well.

As your Congresswoman, I am committed to finding ways to bring more jobs to Americans who need them the most.
