My offices are here to help you cut through the red tape and ensure that the federal government is working for you.  Please contact my district office at (270) 842-9896 for assistance with veterans disability benefits, health care benefits, home loan certificates, and replacement service medals.

To request assistance, please print and complete this privacy release form . Federal law requires that we obtain your written permission before we can contact any federal agency on your behalf. Please explain in detail the problem you are having and provide copies of any related documentation.

Guthrie Presents Medals to WWII Veteran


Congressman Guthrie presented WWII Veteran Tommy Bishop with several medals for his military service in Elizabethtown, Ky., on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at the Hardin County Courthouse.

Mr. Bishop, who is from Vine Grove, Ky., entered the army in August 1944 and served to 1946, then re-entered the army in 1947 and served until his honorable discharge in 1967.  For his honorable service, Mr. Bishop will be presented the following medals by Congressman Guthrie:        

Bronze Star Medal; Good Conduct Medal; American Campaign Medal; European – African-Middle Eastern;  WWII Victory Medal; Army of Occupation Medal; National Defense Medal; Korean Service Medal; Combat Infantryman Badge; United National Service

Guthrie Hosts Veterans Information Fair

Congressman Guthrie hosted a Veterans Information Fair on Monday January 11, 2010 at the Colvin Community Center in Radcliff, Ky. 

This free event was open to the public and provided information on various benefits and services available through local, state and federal agencies and veterans’ service organizations.

Individuals were able to learn about the disability benefits process, retired veterans’ benefits, women veterans’ program, homeless veterans’ program, the healthcare enrollment process, nursing homes, veterans’ cemeteries, education and training for disabled veterans, and small business assistance for veterans.

Guthrie Recognizes Importance of Teaching Students about Veterans

Congressman Brett Guthrie announced Wednesday, December 2, 2009, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed his resolution recognizing the importance of teaching elementary and secondary school students about the sacrifices that veterans have made throughout the history of the nation.
