  1. I had the opportunity to meet Kevin and Julia Dixon, and their daughter Janel, earlier this week at the La Cañada Flintridge Festival in Lights. About 100 local children attended the event and got to meet Santa - and a few of his reindeer!

    • Is it true Congressman that our government is gonna give the Egyptian government war planes? Isn't their president a member of the Muslim Brotherhood? Isn't the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization? Please don't allow this to happen. Wouldn't that be a way to cut spending??

Monsanto does not deserve any breaks, particularly those that limit their liability for the production of food stuffs that they do not allow to be tested. A whole generation may be given cancer for involuntarily eating the stuff that is not labeled.

    N. Security Council resolutions, and the United States will be working closely with our regional partners, as well as the other members of the Security Council to fashion a response. There is concern among observers of the DPRK, that the Pyongyang government will be tempted to increase the regional tension even further by testing a nuclear device – this must be stopped.

Nuclear proliferation and the danger of a nuclear terrorist incident remain the greatest national security threats we face. Over the past four years, the Obama Administration has made great strides with nonproliferation – increasing pressure on Iran, and working with the international community to reduce stockpiles of nuclear weapons and material. We must continue this proactive drive, and prevent more rogue nations and actors from increasing worldwide nuclear tensions and risks.

e that the scientists and engineers who made the Curiosity project possible can continue their important work, and that we have a healthy Mars and Planetary Science budget. The announcement of the 2020 lander and the award of the discovery class mission earlier in the year mark a very positive and encouraging change in fortune for the lab and the broader scientific endeavors. But our work on the budget is not over by any means.

e levied against him. At 17, he was forced to accept a plea deal without the counsel of his parents and ultimately spent over five years in prison, despite being innocent. After contacting the California Innocence Project and their subsequent investigation, the person who leveled the original accusations admitted it was all a fabrication. Brian was released and exonerated earlier this year by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mark Kim. Since then, he has resumed following his dream by trying out for several NFL teams. After hearing his incredible story of strength and perseverance, I’m hopeful that we will see him on the gridiron one day.

The California Innocence Project reviews over 2,000 claims of innocence each year and looks to exonerate those who were convicted of crimes they did not commit. Visit http://californiainnocenceproject.org/ for more information.

I’m incredibly proud to see crewmembers from Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena Water and Power agenices bringing personnel and equipment back to the East Coast to restore power after Hurricane Sandy. 11. With the Supreme Court’s decision to hear arguments on the constitutionality of California’s Proposition 8 which defines marriage as exclusively between a man and a women, I hope we have taken another step towards guaranteeing marriage equality under the law. ex couples who simply want to exercise their basic human right to marry the person of their choosing. I also hope the Supreme Court strikes down the Defense of Marriage Act, which has prevented many couples from enjoying the full rights of marriage.

I look forward to the day when the right of any couple to marry is guaranteed everywhere in the nation.

  18. Today is World AIDS Day. By raising awareness across the globe, we can continue the remarkable results witnessed in the past decade. We’ve already seen a 50% reduction in the rate of new HIV infections in 25 low and middle-income countries, but by pushing for more prevention and treatment, I’m confident that we can see an AIDS free generation in the near future.

  19. Looking for your feedback -- with the Bush-era tax cuts expiring and automatic federal spending cuts due to take effect at the end of the year, independent economists have said the combination of both tax increases and automatic spending cuts found in sequestration would be incredibly harmful to our recovery. While Congress has begun negotiations to solve this problem and prevent us from going over the “fiscal cliff”, what do you think is the best path forward? Do you support extending the Bush era tax cuts for everyone making under $250,000? And what, if any, federal programs do you think should be cut?

  23. Good news today with companies in the U.S. increasing their orders of machinery and other equipment by the largest amount in five months. I’m hopeful that this renewed investment will continue, and that companies will also hire new workers and raise wages, which have been stagnant for years.
