Are you planning a visit to Washington, D.C.? Whether you're coming on a short business trip or an extended family vacation, my office can help you make arrangements for some of the more popular attractions in our Nation's Capital.

If you are a resident of the fourth Congressional District, we are able to help you reserve tours to the White House, the U.S. Capitol, the Library of Congress, the Kennedy Center, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, and others.

These tours are an excellent way to see all that the nation's capital has to offer. All tickets are provided to my constituents on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to the large number of visitors, please request them as early as possible in order to maximize your chances. Tour hours and ticket availabilities vary throughout the year, so please contact my office at least 6 weeks prior to your trip. Please note that all standard admission rates apply for attractions which charge an entry fee.

While you are in Washington, D.C., I encourage you and your family to stop by my office.

Please note that White House tours are scheduled solely at the prerogative of the White House Visitors Office. Our office is pleased to submit a request on your behalf, but cannot guarantee that it will be fulfilled by the White House. Tours should be requested five to six months in advance to optimize chances of receiving a tour.

Email will be the primary way of communicating with you when confirming tours. If you are available for a tour on a specific date we will assume that your availability is for the entire day, unless otherwise noted in the additional comments section on the request form. Please note any time constraints you may have in this section. Thank you, and we hope you enjoy your visit to Washington, D.C.!

Lance Corporal Victor Dew Post Office Naming

I never met Marine Corps Lance Corporal Victor Dew, but I feel that I have gotten to know him since the day he came home to Granite Bay to be laid to rest in a hero's grave, in the midst of his family, his friends and neighbors, his community and his comrades in arms.

Veterans Day Commemoration

Yesterday in Auburn, the community dedicated a street in honor of local resident Col. Bud Anderson. Col. Anderson is 90-going-on-51. He flew 116 fighter combat missions against the Luftwaffe during World War II -- including in support of the D-Day Invasion -- shooting down more than 16 German aircraft, saving countless bomber crews and contributing mightily to the destruction of what Churchill called "the foulest and most soul-destroying tyranny in the history of the human race." One and a half million of our World War II veterans are still alive today, and they still have much to teach us

Dedication of Blue Star Marker

The Blue Star Memorial Highway Project began in the days after World War II, when almost every family had a Blue Star hung in their window awaiting the return of a loved one, and many families had replaced it with a Gold Star signifying that their loved one would not return.
