Federal Agencies—Getting Help

Residents of the 4thCongressional District of Californiacan contact me for assistance in dealing with Federal agencies. In order to better serve you, this form will generate a printable page that you should sign and mail to my office.

Please include all pertinent information and claim numbers in your correspondence—such as:

  • Your Social Security number for a case involving Social Security;
  • VA claim number for a case with Department of Veterans Affairs;
  • Taxpayer identification number (Social Security number, if individual) for an Internal Revenue Service problem, etc.;
  • Your address, home phone number and daytime phone number (if different than home) so that we can obtain any additional information from you that might be necessary;
  • Copies of any related documents or correspondence that you may have from the agency involved.

Please Note: The Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. § 552a) requires that Members of Congress or their staff have written authorization before they can obtain information about an individual's case. We must have your signature to proceed with this type of request.

Lance Corporal Victor Dew Post Office Naming

I never met Marine Corps Lance Corporal Victor Dew, but I feel that I have gotten to know him since the day he came home to Granite Bay to be laid to rest in a hero's grave, in the midst of his family, his friends and neighbors, his community and his comrades in arms.

Veterans Day Commemoration

Yesterday in Auburn, the community dedicated a street in honor of local resident Col. Bud Anderson. Col. Anderson is 90-going-on-51. He flew 116 fighter combat missions against the Luftwaffe during World War II -- including in support of the D-Day Invasion -- shooting down more than 16 German aircraft, saving countless bomber crews and contributing mightily to the destruction of what Churchill called "the foulest and most soul-destroying tyranny in the history of the human race." One and a half million of our World War II veterans are still alive today, and they still have much to teach us

Dedication of Blue Star Marker

The Blue Star Memorial Highway Project began in the days after World War II, when almost every family had a Blue Star hung in their window awaiting the return of a loved one, and many families had replaced it with a Gold Star signifying that their loved one would not return.
