CADCA Names Congresswoman Bono Mack to Board

Washington, DC -- Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America, the nation’s leading drug abuse prevention organization, representing the interests of more than 5,000 community anti-drug coalitions in the country, is pleased to announce the election of three new members to its Board of Directors: The Hon. Mary Bono Mack, Kevin Warren, and Donald Truslow.

“We at CADCA are excited to welcome Congresswoman Bono Mack, Kevin Warren and Donald Truslow to our Board of Directors. Each has a passion for preventing drug abuse, especially among our youth and brings expertise that will enhance our organization and advance our mission,” said Gen. Arthur T. Dean, CADCA’s Chairman and CEO.

Congresswoman Bono Mack was elected in 1998 to serve California's 45th District in a special election held to fill the seat left vacant by her late husband and popular entertainer, the Honorable Sonny Bono, who died in a tragic skiing accident.

Since then, Bono Mack established herself as a respected and closely-watched leader on a wide range of critically important issues while serving 8 terms in Congress (1998-2013). In addition, she's been at the forefront of the nationwide fight against prescription drug abuse, which impacts millions of families across the United States and is now the fastest-growing drug problem in America and recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as a public health epidemic.

"It's an honor and a privilege to be named to CADCA's board. I have worked closely with Gen. Dean and CADCA on many occasions to raise awareness of the deadly dangers of prescription drug abuse. We are committed to working together to save thousands of lives and spare millions of American families from the heartbreak of addiction,” Bono Mack said.

Mr. Kevin Warren, Corporate Vice President & President, United States Client Operations Xerox Corporation, has also accepted CADCA’s offer to be on the Board of Directors. Warren was recently named CADCA’s Drug Free Kids Campaign Humanitarian of the Year for his personal commitment to helping to prevent teen drug use.

Kevin M. Warren is president, United States Client Operations for Xerox Corporation, in Rochester, NY.  He was named to this position and appointed a corporate vice president in July 2010.  Warren is responsible for revenue, profit and cash of USCO’s $3.7 billion dollar business.  Warren most recently served as chairman of the board, president and chief executive officer of Xerox Canada.

“Drug use, particularly among our youth, is a multidimensional problem that requires multidimensional solutions. I am proud to be affiliated with an organization that plays a key role in creating the right environment for children to grow, communities to thrive and companies to prosper,” Mr. Warren said.

CADCA gains another financial and management expert in Donald Truslow. Mr. Donald Truslow is President, Financial Stability Industry Council (FSIC). Truslow joined the FSIC, an affiliate of the Financial Services Roundtable based in Washington D. C., as its president in February of 2011.  Prior to that, he spent over 27 years at Wachovia Corporation, retiring as Chief Risk Officer.

"Over the last few years, circumstances in my life have given me a deeper understanding of the pain and devastation substance addiction leaves in its wake. Drug and alcohol abuse crosses racial, gender, social and economic boundaries - I suspect everyone has a family member, friend or colleague that is impacted in some way,” Mr. Tuslow said. “I feel very privileged to join CADCA in its mission of supporting thousands of coalitions around the country in their efforts to deliver effective substance abuse prevention strategies to their communities."

“We at CADCA are so honored to include these three esteemed leaders to our Board of Directors. Their advice and support will help expand CADCA’s work to build safe, healthy and drug-free communities in the United States and around the world,” said CADCA’s Gen. Dean.
