I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to speak and encourage several young people from the Dallas area at the Hispanic Youth Institute at Southern Methodist University (SMU). With more than 200 Hispanic youth in the audience, I shared a message of hard work, diversity, delayed gratification and charged the students to make a difference in their communities and amongst their peers. I also presented a Congressional Record Statement commending the Hispanic Youth Institute and all the great things and people this program has inspired and helped.
