Statement from Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick on September PA Unemployment Report

Oct 19, 2012 Issues: Economy and Jobs

LANGHORNE, PA - Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-08) released the following statement on the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry's announcement that the commonwealth's unemployment rate rose to 8.2% in September 2012:

"Today's unemployment numbers from the Department of Labor & Industry clearly demonstrate that the economic recovery so many Pennsylvania families are searching for remains out of reach.

Facing the same challenges as small businesses across the country, local manufacturers and entrepreneurs right here in Bucks, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties are struggling under the weight of a broken tax code, onerous and inefficient federal regulations and the rising costs of energy and healthcare.

My 'Made in America' Manufacturing Plan contains some of the most important steps Congress must take as I continue to fight for relief for Pennsylvania small businesses and families as they work to invest in our economy and put people back to work."
