  • Budget and Economy

    Senator Hagan believes that the country's rising debt is unsustainable and threatens America's ability to pursue our priorities and respond to crises.

  • Education

    Senator Hagan, a member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, believes that a quality education is central to individual economic opportunity and sustained American prosperity. To compete in a global economy, our students must receive an education that will prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead of them. 

  • Energy

    Senator Hagan believes that North Carolina can lead the nation in the new energy economy, and supports a comprehensive approach to meeting the energy challenges of the 21st century. Our current dependence on foreign oil and fossil fuels makes our nation less secure and leaves America less competitive in the global marketplace. With this in mind, Senator Hagan is working in the U.S. Senate to enhance American energy independence and create good-paying, clean energy jobs that cannot be outsourced.

  • Environment

    North Carolina's diverse natural resources are central to the state's economy and provide opportunities to hunt, fish and hike. Senator Hagan loves to explore North Carolina's great outdoors with her family and believes that protecting our natural environment is essential to supporting our state's economy.

  • Ethics and Accountability

    Senator Hagan is a strong believer that our government exists to serve the people, and as such the people are entitled to a government that is responsive, transparent, and accountable.

  • Farming and Rural

    Agriculture has been the bedrock of North Carolina’s culture and economy for generations.  Senator Hagan will work to ensure that North Carolina’s strong agricultural tradition continues to thrive in the future...

  • Health Care

    In the U.S. Senate, Senator Hagan has focused on expanding affordable, quality health care access to North Carolinians and to all Americans.

    Senator Hagan has been a champion for the middle class throughout her career in public service. On issues such as college affordability, homeownership, responsible budgeting and tax code fairness, Senator Hagan believes it is critical that the middle class have a voice in Washington.

    North Carolina is the most military-friendly state in the nation, and as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Senator Hagan is working hard to keep it that way.
