Americans should be able to receive the best health care available. Unfortunately, the finest health care system in the world was severely compromised by the partisan health care law that Congress passed and the President signed in March 2010.  The $2.6 trillion health law’s unprecedented expansion of federal power and one-size-fits-all mandates are a failure.

Once fully implemented, it will cost taxpayers $1.1 trillion in new taxes and penalties. It ties the hands of job-creators with burdensome regulations and adds more than $700 billion to our nation’s already bloated deficit.  It raids existing health care programs for the elderly – that were already going bankrupt – to pay for new entitlements.  And the massive expansion to the Medicaid program threatens to bankrupt Utah and other states.

This law is an imminent threat to our nation’s finances and to the continued functioning of our nation’s health care system.  It must be repealed.

Real reform focused on reducing costs and expanding individual choices follows our nation’s constitutional commitment to limited government and personal liberty.  We need to increase access to affordable health insurance, remove bureaucratic red tape, and ensure access to new, safe, and affordable medical advances and treatments.   Consumers and patients – not government bureaucrats – must be in charge of health care decisions for themselves and their families.
