U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.), a senior member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the United States Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has awarded $675,818 to the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs  to support state highway safety programs.

“Each day, thousands of Alabamians travel on our state’s highways,” said Shelby. “For this reason, we must ensure that our roads remain safe.  This grant will provide funding to support Alabama’s highway safety programs.”
