Hank fighting foreclosures with Fourth District ‘HomeSafe’ event No. 2 in 2012

Congressman Johnson hosting event in conjunction with D&E, DCA to help struggling homeowners

LITHONIA, GA – On Saturday, December 8, Congressman Hank Johnson is hosting his second community event of 2012 to help struggling homeowners avoid foreclosure.

In conjunction with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs’ HomeSafe Georgia program and certified housing counselors the D&E Group, Rep. Johnson is holding the free event to help struggling homeowners.

Rep. Johnson held a similar event on April 28, 2012, in which hundreds of homeowners were helped.

HomeSafe is designed to provide temporary assistance to Georgia homeowners who have suffered a substantial income loss due to involuntary unemployment or underemployment and who are able and willing to work.

The event will also provide opportunities for homeowners to meet with counselors to see if they are eligible for a loan modification. To pre-qualify and to register, participants can call D&E at 770-961-6900 or visit their Web site at depower.org.
