WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Daniel K. Akaka (D-Hawaii), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, will hold an oversight hearing on Impacts of Environmental Changes on Treaty Rights, Traditional Lifestyles, and Tribal Homelands, this Thursday, July 19, 2012, at 2:15 p.m. in room 628 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building.
The purpose of this hearing is to examine the disproportionate impact that environmental changes have on tribal homelands and the resources available to mitigate and adapt to these changes.
