JOHN A. LOGAN COLLEGE AND SHAWNEE COMMUNITY COLLEGE RECEIVE EDUCATION GRANTS

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that John A. Logan College and Shawnee Community College have been awarded Child Care Program grants through the U.S. Department of Education.  Both awards cover the first year of an anticipated four-year grant.

John A Logan College will receive $10,778 to expand its preschool facilities.  Shawnee Community College will receive $25,094 to partner with the Southern 7 Health Department to continue and expand child care services. 

"Providing child care options helps both students and employees," said Costello.  "I will continue to support efforts to make a quality education more attainable."
