FRENCH VILLAGE FIRE DEPARTMENT RECEIVES FIREFIGHTERS GRANT

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the French Village Fire Department, located in Fairview Heights, has received a $232,968 Assistance to Firefighters grant through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The funds will be used for operations and safety. Costello cosponsored the legislation that created the Assistance to Firefighters program.

"Our number one priority must always be the safety of our communities," said Costello. "These funds will enhance fire protection services in St. Clair County, and I will work to ensure that these resources remain available."
