BETHALTO FIRE DEPARTMENT RECEIVES FIREFIGHTERS GRANT

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Bethalto Fire Department has received a $63,080 Assistance to Firefighters grant through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.  The funds will be used for operations and safety.  Costello cosponsored the legislation that created the Assistance to Firefighters program. 

"These funds will help the dedicated professionals of the Bethalto Fire Department save lives and property," said Costello.  "All of us must be increasingly aware of fire hazards in an effort to prevent fires before they start."
