U.S. CONGRESSMAN JERRY COSTELLO HONORED
BY SOUTHWESTERN ILLINOIS LEADERSHIP COUNCIL

Collinsville, IL - On Thursday, November 10, 2005 U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) was honored with a special award for his efforts at preserving and protecting Scott Air Force Base by the Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois. Costello was given this special recognition during the Leadership Council's annual dinner held in Collinsville, Illinois. Keynote speaker during the event was former U.S. Air Force General John Handy who recently retired as the head of US Transportation Command and Air Mobility Command at Scott Air Force Base.  

In addition to Congressman Costello's honor, U.S Congressman John Shimkus was honored for his work at bringing a Corn to Ethanol Plant to Southern Illinois University.  Present to accept the award on the Congressman's behalf, was the Congressman's son John.
