VERGENNES RECEIVES USDA GRANT

Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Village of Vergennes has received a $35,000 grant through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Office of Rural Development.  The funds will be used to construct an addition to the Community Center and purchase computer equipment to bring broadband Internet access to Vergennes and other local areas. 

"Improving our technological infrastructure will help economic development," said Costello.  "It is essential that these services are available to rural areas and I will continue to work to ensure that they are."
