Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems, located in Marion, has been awarded a $6,109,896.82 contract by the U.S. Army. The contract is for the production and testing of 528,420 81mm and 120mm mortar cartridge propelling charges.
"This project is critical to our national defense and will help sustain the local and national economies," said Costello. "I will continue to work to ensure that sufficient resources are available for the men and women of our Armed Forces."
