Washington - U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Cambria Volunteer Fire Department has received a $175,500 Assistance to Firefighters grant through the Federal Emergency Management Agency of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The funds will be used to purchase a firefighting vehicle. Costello cosponsored the legislation that created the Assistance to Firefighters program.
"This award will enhance fire protection services in the area," said Costello. "Public safety must remain our number one priority, and I will continue to work to ensure that our first responders have the resources they need."
