COSTELLO STATEMENT ON ILLINOIS, INDIANA AGREEMENT ON FUTUREGEN

Washington -U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) issued the following statement regarding the announcement by the State of Illinois that the State of Indiana is supporting Illinois' bid to host the FutureGen project:

"The agreement between Illinois and Indiana is another step forward in our efforts to locate FutureGen in Southern Illinois and I congratulate Governors Blagojevich and Daniels on reaching this agreement.  This partnership underscores what we already know, that Illinois is ideally suited to host FutureGen, and our bid is greatly strengthened by adding the carbon sequestration resources found in Indiana.  I intend to lead an effort between the Illinois and Indiana Congressional delegations over the coming months to ensure that the FutureGen Industrial Alliance is aware of our joint support for locating FutureGen in Illinois."
